Where are you in life (meaning, what stage)? Did you finish high school? College? Graduate school? Are you single or married? Do you have kids?
Talk about your background, and your professional and personal aspirations. Also, discuss your interests, hobbies, and talents. Tell us something about yourself that makes you UNIQUE. Feel free to add anything else that you would like to share about yourself with the class.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Patthakorn Pimnak. My nickname is Bow. I come from Bangkok, Thailand. I graduated from Bangkok University in 2014 with Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance). I’m single. I have been working at Landmark Bangkok Hotel about account payable for 1 year before I came to Houston, TX. My hobbies are cooking Thai foods, traveling and spend time with my mother. Although I’m not sure what I want to do in the future, I will do my best.

ReplyDeleteI am a psychologist graduated in Venezuela where I come from, I did a master in educational psychology and I worked for many years in my country. However, because my husband job, we have to move from Venezuela to other countries I have to stop working in this area and only work in my home, with my three kids and everything about the house, etc.
I grew up surrounded by so many people among family and friends, so for me the relationships and connections with the persons are very important, maybe because of that I decided to study psychology, I love to learn from other people experience and see the live through their eyes, always is very interesting and rewarding, viewing things from their perspective, sometimes in a way that I never thought.
In our walks through life, I meet a lot of interesting people and places, some of them were actually became part of the family I choose, and I am thankful to God for having them in my live, you can not believe what things they did for me, for us. At the same time I discovered my passion for photography... Because I have the opportunity to travel a lot, I start to take pictures of so many things, events, persons, nature and moments that capture something special, at least for me, so I decided to share this pictures and I am considering to participe in some photography concourse, maybe I win something...who knows?...
As a psychology I know that everyone is unique, with good and bad things, that take different shapes with the experiences in life, I am unique!..as you...and I think I have many people who loves me for different reasons, and for sure, I can find people that doesn't like me, but for me is important to know that the people I love understand me, respect me and accept me like I am, as well I do with them....for the rest, I hope walk together and learn from each other.

DeleteHello everyone. I'm Thoai Tran. It's a long story to tell, but I come from a little city in south of Vietnam. Actually, I came to U.S.A about seven years ago. I went to high school and graduated from high school here in Houston. During high school I didn't think much about my future, just relax and to whatever I want. Luckily, my high school has my favorite sport which is swimming. I love to swim. I took that class with my friends. I'm so happy that I made to varsity team of my high school. I had to practiced everyday for my competition with another schools in Houston area. Moreover, I want to be a hairstylist after graduated high school and I did it. Yup! it was plan which help me find a left hand job first before I go to college. I want to see how the world will be out there. I have been learning a lot of new things everyday. People out there has taught me how to deal with PROBLEMS and I learned to solves it. With me for those years I had worked and the experiences is worth it. This chapter has already done. My new chapter has begun. I am so excited to go back to school and ready to rock the world with my classmates. Last but not least, I'm a funny person, we all want to have fun in study. I know we are new to class, everyone is a bit shy but time will answer it. Remember! TEAMWORK MAKE A DREAM WORK...<3<3<3.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Anh Hoang. I'm from Viet Nam. I studied Acounting for 2 years at university in Viet Nam. But after 2 years, I see that field is not what I like so I dropped it and came to the U.S. I will study Hospitality Administration when I complete the English class. I love to play piano and guitar.
I was an accounting major too before I dropped it and changed to English. The best decision I ever made! I hope we get to hear you play some music one day soon.

Two years were in a PR company, and five years were in an IT company. Because I liked carpets, I also worked for one year in a carpet company. Now, I am interested in Communication, Social Work and Logistics. I think one of them will be my next ten-year focus. About hobbies, I had different hobbies in different times. During school, I liked reading, playing volleyball and table tennis. During work, I liked running and listening music. Now, because of my husband’s career, I have been to the stranger city and country. I’d like to make preparations for my new stage, such as mastering English. I hope we will have a good study experience and make our dreams come true.

Hi guys. I am Keunwoo Park. Just call me Kunu. I am from In-choen South Korea where very close by Seoul. I have been America nine years. I came to Houston to learn English 2007 and sturdied UH esl program LCC for a year, but I got gun shot accident by carjacking robbers on 4th of July, 2008. The bullet hit my spinal code, it cause me disable patient and I have not walked again for eight years.
ReplyDeleteMy major was International trade, and at the middle of college I had to go to mandatory military service for two years. After that I came to U.S as a foreign student.
I used to love playing sports such as swimming, soccer and driving(even if it is not sport). I worked in UH aquatics swimming pool as a life guard.
I hope being a good health information manager like social worker in hospitol. I am glad to meet you guys. I hope all of you guys being good for each other and reaching your goals.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Tan Ton. I come from Vietnam. I graduated highschool in Vietnam and attended to Danang University of Foreign Language in my home country. I just came to the US for almost 9 months, but i've just been in Houston for over 2 months, i used to live in Philadelphia with my brother for 6 months until the last June. I don't like the cold weather of Philadelphia, i prefer the weather here even it's really hot. I'm a dreamer. I always dream because it's free for dreaming (^o^)) At present, i want to study as good as i can. In the future, i hope that i can figure out what i truly want to do, who i truly want to be to choose a right major for my self to study. In my freetime, i usually listen to music and sing, or hang out, go to the cinema, or starbuck with my friends sometimes. I'm happy to study in this class and to know all of you guys. See you guys!

I graduated High School Nazareth in 2006 and, Andres Bello Catholic University in 2012, my major is Licensed in Preschool Education. I’m single and don’t have kids. I worked while I was studying in the university, I took much experience in the preschool educational field. My aspirations are to get a real good job and have a great family with 4 kids. I always want to know everything, I’m so curious. My hobbies right now are coloring with color pencil and building puzzles. My talent is to be happy and sensible that’s make me a unique person.

ReplyDeleteIn 2003 I graduated as a lawyer. I used to work in employment law. And I also did civil litigation.
I already got a Paralegal Certificate to the University of Houston, so I have been started to learn about the American legal field and legal language. But I need to improve my English, in order to be efficient for work in this field. I plan to take a Master Degree. And my final goal is to become a lawyer in U.S.
I am married, and I have two kids. A daughter and a son. I love to share my time with my family. I enjoy all the funny things that my kids do.
I like the Musicals theater and concerts.

MY WONDERFUL LIFE
My father always toll me, You have to be better than me, He was a carpenter, and He sent me to commercial school to be an accountant, I was 18 years old and my country was under military government, and I have to to go to the army for two years, I had no choice go to the army for two years or go to jail for four years, I choose to go to the army, and that was very good, They taught me to fight, respect the people, work in any situation, this was good for my future life.
Two years past, and as soon as finished my military life, I got my passport, and I left my country, later I got a job in a Greek ship, by December 1980 my ship arrived to Texas, and then my new life started in USA. I got a job in a grain elevator and I work there for ten years, also I worked part time like tax preparer, in 1990 I started my own tax business and still open so far.
My talent are carpentry and solar panel, I remember to help my father to do some work when I was young.
My personal life , I am married and I very happy with my wife, and I have three children, the younger is 20 years old, He is studying at Lone start college to be mechanic engineer.
This question about, Where am I in my life? It made me think, It's a tough question, because I am already in about 75 per cents of my life, so I think I have left 25 per cents,. But this is not a problem, a several years ago something happen in my life, something wonderful, I become Christian, and I started to learn about the Bible, I found a lot of peace, help other, learn to deal with my wife , my children, my family, my friends, everything is in the Bible, but you have to read and understand little by little, and ask God more knowledge to learn from Him
You have had a very full and interesting life, Luis, so far, and I hope the remaining 25% is the same. And maybe its even 30% that remains :)

I'll have my first baby on December 30,2016. Before I came to America, I had worked in GM in China for 11 years. In our company I was a chief engineer of Manufacturing Quality Management System. I love my job. My major in the University is automotive engineering. Because of my family, I had to give up my career. I wanna adapt my new life in America as soon as possible.
